Required verification
- Current state or local contractor registration and every applicable trade license.
- License verification through the issuing authority—not a badge supplied by the provider.
- Current commercial general liability insurance with an expiration date.
- Documented service ZIP codes and a named process for accepting or declining requests.
- Any advertised restoration credential verified with its issuing organization.
- A public customer-complaint and escalation contact.
What verification does not guarantee
Verification does not guarantee availability, arrival time, workmanship, price, insurance coverage, drying time, safety, or suitability for a particular property. Homeowners should still compare written scopes and read work authorizations before signing.
Coverage and lead controls
A provider is eligible for a ZIP only when its service area is recorded, verification is current, insurance has not expired, and it is actively accepting requests. Uncovered ZIP codes receive decision tools or a clearly labeled availability notice—not a false promise of a match.
Compensation and ranking
Compensation will be disclosed before a future phone or form action. Payment will not change safety guidance, research inclusion, licensing facts, or publication of a correction. The site will not label a provider “best,” publish self-written reviews as independent ratings, or sell an organic ranking.
Reverification and removal
License and registration checks must be refreshed at least every 90 days; insurance is rechecked before expiration. A provider is removed from matching when verification expires, a required license becomes inactive, service coverage is withdrawn, or a material complaint requires review.
